Expensive Booties

I admit, I'm a little obsessed with booties. But until the lower level lines start copying this trend, I can't really afford it. Here's a pair I would kill to have, but they're $330, not exactly in my price range. But in case one of my lovely readers can afford them (or really wants to buy them for me) you can get them at Zappos.

The Papillion

This is the type of dog I have and they are so sweet and gentle and I want more! There are two types, the Papillion and the Phalene. The first means butterfly and the ears are up and the second means moth and the ears are down. Christina is so lucky to have one of each! Plus she gets bonus points for originality since I can't think of a single other celebrity who owns ones, not even the Osbournes!

Military & Tuxedo-inspired Blazer

I really like asymmetricalness in my clothes, I think it tends to make classic pieces unique and modern. Plus this one was orignally $200 and is now $70! Get it at SmartBargains.

Vintage Dress Pin

This is really quite a fetching necklace, I love vintage-inspired pieces in general. Plus the color really stands out. You can get it at Flat Earth Jewelry for $75.

Helen Wang Chiffon Skirt

I really adore Helen Wang, and here is a very cute skirt by her that is marked down from $120 to $70. I think wearing it with some opaque black tights would be very now. Get it on Amazon (or you can find it on Bluefly too).

DVF Look Alike Wrap Dress

We've all heard of the Diane von Furstenberg warp dress, really a timeless classic for the chic fasshonaburu. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford a $345 dress (I know I can't). But here's a great dress that looks DVF, but is really London Times! It's only $78 and you can get it at Nordstrom.

Asian Platform Sandals

Check out these totally Asian-inspired sandals, I absolutely love them. They remind me of gieshas, except they look like they would be a little more comfortable. Worst part of these shoes is Yoox only has them in a size 9. Best part is they were originally $290 but are marked down to $42.

Yigal Azrouel Rocks

Since showing in 2005, I've definitely though this was a designer to watch. Yigal Azrouel seems to mix classic shapes with funky patterns seemlessly. Celebrities like Iman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Rachel McAdams all love the clothes. You can preorder his stuff at Saks.

Leather Cuff

I tend to like cuffs, something about how they're unisex. And I like these cuz they're not too hard-ass (they have a certain elegance) and they come in a good selection of colors (more than the picture shows). Get one at Hayden-Harnett for $88.

Leopard Print In Small Doses

I like animal print and I'm glad it always seems to be for Fall. But I think it's best to by minimal about it, too much and it gets a bit overwhelming /fashion victimy. Here's a cute top that's only $50 with just a hint of wild child. Get it at Bluefly.

It Nail Polish

As we all know, Chanel Black Satin nail polish is the It color of the season. There hasn't been this much of a frenzy since Vamp nail polish came out. So, of course, you can't get it bloody anywhere (I would know, I tried). Of course, Ebay is always there to save you. Just be willing to spend $119 and Black Satin can be all yours! Of course, there are much cheaper versions on Ebay, but I'm still in shock that some people would think other people would spend that much on nail polish. Anyway, I got some WetnWild in Black Creme and it did the job just fine.

Wanna Be Birkin Bag

This bag is a very very very cheap version of the famous Hermes Birkin bag. It's only $35 at Purses Boutique, and while it's obviously not going to be of the same quality, it's quite a steal.

Equestrian Blazer

This is a cute Fall piece that will update your wardrobe and not break the bank. All the fabrics are very menswear and you can pair it with skinny jeans and boots without looking costumey. Get it at Styledose.com for $80.

Cowlneck Sweater

There's something very "artistic French" about this sweater that I really like, I love the bright hues and how it almost looks like brush strokes. The over-sized cowlneck is really cute too. You can buy it at Anthropologie for $118, not too bad for that store.

BCBG Sweater Jacket

BCBG Sweater JacketI like it when people make clothes out of sweater material because it's soooo comfy and soft. It's not clothing you're fighting against, you know? The best way I can describe it is malleable. You can get this blazer at Nordstrom for $256.

Skull Print Obi

It's amazing what the right accessory can do for an outfit. It can pull it together or make it look completely different. I think this obi is one of those right accessories. Whenever you put something on and you think, "Hmmm, I could look a little more punk rock," this is what you reach for. But it's not overwhelming either, it's just right. Get it at ShopBop for $53.

Pearl Lariat

I was looking for a simple lariat necklace awhile back, and here is beautiful one that will fit into any girl's budget at $5! Get it at Pearl Strings.

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

Nine West Suit

Check it out, a whole frigging outfit for more than half off! Orginally $300 but now just $110! It even includes the shirt! Get it at Overstock.

Bad Fashion Of The Month

Seriously, what happened to Jessica Simpson? I KNOW she used to be hot but then she got single, her sister got a nosejob and suddenly... this happened.

Menswear Vest

Perfect for layering and very now in its menswear look, this vest is a good buy for a not expensive, trendy piece for Fall. Get it at Urban Outfitters for $48.

Fashion Week: Sum Up

I would say that the Spring 2007 ready-to-wear lines at fashion week focused on light airy dresses and skirts, lots of white and beige and pops of yellow and blue.
Derek Lam

Marc Jacobs

Oscar de la Renta

Vera Wang

Frankie B. Jeans

I love these straight-leg jeans by Frakie B. The hearts on the butt make the jeans unique without looking crazy. Get them for $207 at ADASA.

Heidi Klum's Jewelry Line

Heidi Klum's Jewelry LineHeidi Klum recently started a jewelry line that you can purchase on QVC. It's nothing really exciting. It's all clover-themed and prices range from $50-$175. I do like this hammered and polished ring for $87. Perfect for the person who needs a goodluck charm.

Cherry Blossom Thermos

A true fasshonaburu gal pays attention to the details. This thermos is tres chic for carrying life-saving coffee or a snack of soup. Get it at We Shop To Give, a cute store which donates to a list of charities that you can choose from!

Coupons Website

I found this really cool site that has tons of coupons for other really cool sites. Yay!

Organic Halter

Here's a beautiful halter top that's sold by Tarsian & Brinkey,
"the first in socially responsible, Afghan-made, hand-embroidered
organic clothing." I love the color and it would sparkle beautiful on a
night out hitting the town. I like shiny objects!

Giesha Pendant

This beautiful necklace first caught my eye in "The Devil Wears Prada" (I seriously can't wait for that on DVD). Many weeks later, by some stroke of luck, I stumbled upon it online at Twist. Now I just need another stroke of luck to win the lottery so I can afford the $1,037 necklace.

Ann Taylor Sale

Lucky online shoppers you can save between 15% (off $100) or 20% (off $175) with code 46200001 through Oct. 1st. Plus get free shipping. Shop at Ann Taylor.

Baroque Wedges

Baroque WedgesIf it ain't Baroque...
These are one of the It shoes of Fall, Miu Miu's Baroque wedges. I have to say, they do certainly stand out. Get them at the fabulous Net-A-Porter for $635. But they're really priceless when it comes to the amount of fawning over you'll get!

Just A Tee

James Perse TeeI've heard more than one celebrity wax poetic about the comforts of James Perse's clothes. They're usually jersey and very simple but if you have the extra cash I'm betting they're so worth it. You can get this one at eLuxury for $60.

Black Loafers

These aren't the most exciting shoes, not really a pair you want to show off. But I take the metro to work every day and winter is coming. I refuse to wear a pair of ugly sneakers but there's no way I can wear my heels for that trek. Here's a perfectly stylish pair of comfy flats in waterproof leather, which is perfect the unpredicatable weather on it's way. Get them at Amazon for $120.

Green Dress With Wrap Belt

This dress just stands out, I can't explain it. Maybe it's the color, maybe it's the shiny belt. But it stands out and if that's what you're looking for than you should consider getting it at Arden B. for $98.

Cashmerical

Someone please buy me this! Bluefly is having a cashmere sale and this is one of the sweaters on sale. It was originally $300 but it's down to $150 but I'm trying so hard to not spend money so I need someone to get it for me.

Athletic Cami With Pocket

For the fasshonaburu who watches her figure, this is a perfect workout top. The tiny pocket can fit keys or your cash and cards or even an iPod (there's a cord feed)! You can get it at Gracie's Gear & Training for $33.

So Far in Fashion Week

From the reports of fellow fasshonaburus, it appears that clothes for spring won't be pastel, but there will be dashes of hot pink. White and cream will also be big and it seems like designers used a good amount of yellow as well. Silhouettes were varied, sleek, full, everything in between, though so far every big show has had one jumpsuit in the line.

The Pomeranian

Ah, the pomeranian. One of the most popular celebrity pets. Kimora has one, Nicole Richie has one, the Osbornes have at least one. There are very sweet and fluffy and you can fit one in your purse, so it's not surprising.

Raspberry Leopard Scarf

I love scarves, they add a bit of elegance to an otherwise humdrum outfit. You can get this at Bijou Blanche for $87.

Cashmere Hoodie

I love hoodies but I know I'm a bit old for that type of look. But The Gap has provided me with a very grown-up version in super soft cashmere. Wear over a white button down for a preppy work look. Costs $118.

Back-Pleat Skirt

I've never seen a skirt like this, but it would be a very cute work skirt with an unusal twist. Get it at Victoria's Secret for just $50.

Custom Purse Website

Design your own purse at B's Purses. Of course you can't really design the shape, but they do have a large selection of shape to choose from. Then you get to choose all the fabrics - handles, rim, side fabrics, lining & possibly more - as well as monograming and the like. Here are some sample purses:

Military Sweater/Jacket

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a jacket or a sweater, but either way it's absolutely fantastic. I adore the stand-up collar and the fact that it's merino wool. I don't adore the fact that it's $198, though. Get it at Kenneth Cole.

Screw Earrings

Want to look totally punk rock but not ready for that eyebrow piercing? Here's a cute pair of earrings that look like the head of a Philips screw. Get them at Individual Icons for just $32.

White Sailor Pants

White after Labor Day?!?!? Here's a pair of cute sailor pants that would look great dressed up with navy or black. Get them at Saks Fifth Avenue for $215.
