Nolita Anti-Anorexia Ads
Italian fashion brand Nolita has anti-anorexia billboards up around Milan just in time for their fashion week! Starring Isabelle Caro, suffering from anorexia since she was 13 and weighing just 67 lbs (31 kilos), the aim of the campaign is to "to use the naked body to show everyone the reality of this illness, caused in most cases by the stereotypes imposed by the world of fashion". Giorgio Armani defended fashion though, by saying, "Anorexia has reasons which are not linked to fashion. Even people who take no notice of fashion get anorexic." True, but I think the fashion world needs a wake up call and this billboard is certainly shocking enough. Maybe too shocking?
