I first saw these in "Nylon" and I've gotten totally obsessed! I'm not even a sneaker person, I pretty much only wear them at the gym. The upcoming Jeremy Scott collection for adidas will be available March, and these JS Wings come in white or gold. I don't believe the price has been confirmed, but I hear they will retail somewhere between $120 and $250. I so hope they're on the lower range, so I can scoop these up immediately!
I am completely blown away by these intricately created paper head pieces made by hairdresser Katsuya Kamo for the Chanel Couture show in Paris this past Tuesday. He created over 65 pieces out of just two packs of 11x17 Office Depot copy paper! While he claims it was easy, it took Katsuya and 7 assistants three weeks to create the pieces. While I can make a mean origami swan, I can't imagine the patience and attention to detail creating these must have required. It certainly paid off. The only caveat? I'm so caught up with the headpieces, I almost forget to pay attention to the actual clothes!

Could that headline BE any more awesome?
Jean Paul Gaultier sent a breathtaking couture collection down the runway in Paris this week, along with an equally breathtaking guest star. Inès de la Fressange, the 51-year-old mother of two and former model (the first to ever sign an exclusive haute-couture contract, in the eighties, with Chanel) took two turns down Gaultier's runway. The crowd applauded when she came out. Heard on the Runway reports:
Fashion models “are not just 14-year-olds,” Mr. Gaultier said later. “There are no [age] barriers to beauty.” The French designer explained that the curvy Ms. de la Fressange embodied the sexuality demanded [by] his raunchy Spanish themed show.
Preach that, JPG. But the story gets sweeter: Inès's 14-year-old daughter watched the show with her little sister and told reporters Mom was nervous. Inès confessed she was intimidated hanging out backstage with the young models, "surrounded by all those sexy little things.” And at the end of the show, Gaultier got so excited, as you can see above, that he chased Inès down and tackled her on the runway (in a playful way). We've said it once and we'll say it again: Who needs the Super Bowl when you have couture?

Every Valentines Day I debate on whether I should make a gift guide for men. Because really my site is about clothing, and men mostly want cool gadgets. But I suppose it wouldn't hurt, I definitely have some great ideas! Some of my better ones:
- A Wii is a great compromise. It has some of the most girl friendly games and the Wii Fit! Instead of being ignored, you two can go bowling together.
- A home beer brewing kit is unexpected and another activity you could do together.
- Buy him a foosball table and he will love you forever! They're surprisingly affordable, at least on the low end range.
- Cloud 9 Living has some great experience packages, like this ride in a dragster. They also have motorcycle, golf, food and outdoor adventure packages that would thrill any guy. The big drawback is that it's location limited, like the private DJ lessons in NY I so want.
And of course there are more basic items, briefcases, cuff links, belts, the usual!

Did you know Abaeté for Payless was out??? There are a lot of really cute shoes and purses, especially the gladiator style slingbacks. I'm not big on the multicolor woven pieces though, somehow they don't come together and end up looking cheap. Prices run from $15 to $40.
I love musicals! Some of my favorites include "Thoroughly Modern Millie," "West Side Story," and "Cabaret." Will I be adding "The Life and Times of Christian Dior" to that soon? Malcolm McLaren, former manager of the Sex Pistols, forayed into the fashion industry with Vivienne Westwood, opening a clothing store and designing clothing together. Working on a musical about Dior for the past year, he's apparently about to start casting in NY!
He told "Interview":
"It involved a story I was told that took place in Paris between 1947 and '57 . . . about how rock 'n' roll emerged as a force that really changed the face of France, of Paris — of their industry, their luck, their haute couture instinct. That fascinated me because of how Paris attempted after the war to regain its position as the center of civilization, trying to bring back La Belle Époque, and not knowing how to do it in those postwar austere times. And meanwhile America was knocking at their door, this whole postwar culture of desires rather than necessity, in the form of products that we never knew could exist before-this whole youth culture, rock 'n' roll, blue jeans, and icons like Marilyn Monroe."
"So here you have this house of haute couture, the house of Christian Dior that opened in '47 on the coldest day they'd seen in 50 years in Paris, with people freezing in the salons and watching this display of clothes that really sent everybody back to the dark ages of La Belle Époque. These hourglass-shaped women, these full skirts, these padded thighs, these false icons. But that ultimately became something embraced by Hollywood to be used as an image to convey the new teenage rock 'n' roll lifestyle. Now how did they do that? How did they take something made by this man — Christian Dior, who was already middle-aged and trying to reinvent his mother's costumes — and wed that to every James Dean and Elvis Presley look-alike in Hollywood, and make this clothing that was almost a symbol of reactionary thinking into a symbol of the outlaw spirit and of rebellion and the youth culture? That idea just fascinated me."
"I began to really read about Paris after the liberation, and about what happened, and about what its youth was, and then suddenly I saw a story that really could define music and fashion and how it all happened after the postwar and where it all went. And if I could do that, and trap it, inside this house of Christian Dior, from its birth in '47 to Dior's death in '57 — that seemed to me something worth really investigating as a musical. And if I didn't have to do it in the way that musicals were made in the past, then that would be something I would — really fight for. So it was a question of coming up with the vision of how to do that. It's a sexy story about the time and inside the house and the life and times of Christian Dior."
This dark green leather top has two horizontal gold buttons at the bottom and three at the top to cause a beautiful draping effect. Pair with a long sleeved tee now and wear by itself when it finally gets warm out. Buy at My Wardrobe, originally $972 but is now on sale for $389.
Unless you have a super short torso like me, you should definitely own a wide belt to really define your waist. Available in black or gray, this one has a cool geometric shape covering the buckle. Buy at Banana Republic for the sale price of $28.
It's a giant panda! So... cute.. must... resist! I would SO totally hint for this for Valentine's Day if I hadn't already hinted for something else. Plus I wouldn't be able to resist constantly popping it into my mouth to nom. Find it at Anthropologie for $178.

While I usually try to post affordable things, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, I can't resist posting this Marc Jacobs Clutch. The different textured hearts remind me of the cut-out Valentine's card I made as a kid. Its girly, fun, and will definitely stand out! Buy it at eLuxury for $795.00 and send me one too!
Whew, an ice storm has hit DC so pretty much everything has shut down, including my brain :O
Here's a totally fabulous coat by Thai label Sretsis to keep you warm; can you believe it's denim? Originally $675 at Language, it's now on sale for $395.

EdressMe has already got an imitation of Michelle Obama's Inaugural gown available for pre-order (on left)! Costing $320, I wonder how many girls plan to wear this for prom. The site has seen a spike in sales of one-shoulder and strapless red dresses, the latter likely due to the red Reem Acra dress worn by VP wife Jill Biden.
ABS by Allen Schwartz, well-known for creating Oscar gown copies, is also planning on creating an Obama gown (on right), which will be in stores in March or April and will cost $300-$350. I like this version better, it seems to be more more detailed and more thought out for about the same amount of money. There will also be copies of the Toledo jacket, about $300, and sheath, $about $150, worn to the ceremony.

I love the texture of this skirt designed by former "Project Runway" winner Jeffrey Sebeliam, and, it has pockets, which is always a bonus for me with skirts! Originally $237, you can buy it on sale at Revolve Clothing for $119. Not to mention, Revolve is one of my favorite online stores as they provide free shipping and free returns and eveything always seems to arrive ridiculously fast.
Squeee more pictures of Alexander McQueen's line for Target! Based on the more affordable McQ line, it will be available March 1 through April 11. Initial thoughts are SQUEEEE as you can tell, loving the bright pink and cobalt colors paired with my favorite neutral, gray. My only real concern is that it's a little too rawk for spring, with the studs and mesh and black. But I suppose that's better than more boho ;)
I love blotchy bleached denim right now, like this totally rad white and black pair. In fact, it's pretty much the only style of pants I'm into right now, with harem and boyfriend just being to ginormous on my tiny frame. Buy at Urban Outfitters for $68.
I could have sworn I already posted this plaid empire waist dress, but I searched and couldn't find it, so here it is just in case! It's a great winter to spring transition piece and I love how flattering the empire waist is! And I love the oragami style detail at the waist. Buy at Cutsey Girl for $63.

Forward is the high end sister site of REVOLVEclothing. I rarely check the site out since I know I can't afford anything, but I heard they were having a sale and wanted to see what I still couldn't afford. These kick butt combat styled boots by Esquivel are definitely my favorite, originally $807 buy now for a reasonable (in comparison) $487.
Unfortunately, it looks like we've still got plenty of cold weather ahead of us (at least here on the Northeast coast), so you still have plenty of time to rock a new winter coat. This George Simonton Studio Lambswool Coat has an interesting short sleeves on top of long sleeves look. Get it in Black or Black Orchid at Nordstrom's for 50% off at $139.90!
Messenger bags are so useful, especially now that they're not all mini-sized. I went looking for a cute one with an outside pocket (I can't have any purse without one!) and found this one at a reasonable $159 at eBags in black, tan and white.
This makes me so sad, I'm sick of hearing about fabulous boutiques having to close shop. Maneater Threads is have a closing sale now, with some insane deals! Save 40% on all purchases of $100 and more when you use the discount code "CLOSING" at check-out or 50% off all purchases of $150 and more using the discount code "TOUTIE50" at checkout.
Looks like all four stars have agreed to make a "Sex in the City" sequel! A source just told US Weekly: "Not all the contracts are signed, but everyone is on board." Let's just hope they don't let Vivienne Westwood write the script - though I am totally interested to hear what ideas she has. I'm betting someone will have a baby, most likely Carrie and Big, but I would love to see Samantha become a mother just because it would be so unexpected. Besides, now that she's single again there's pretty much no other original way her life could go!
Thanks to J. Crew you now have the perfect tee to pair with a safari-inspired jacket and jeans this spring! I'm not 100% on this, but I believe "safari njema" means "have a good journey" in Swahili which makes sense because the other colors of the tee say "Bon Voyage." Buy in four different colors for $40.

I'm so obsessed with this leather bomber, designed exclusively for Oak by gar-de. The diagonal flaps give it a cool futuristic vibe (which we all know I can't resist!) and it's currently 60% off! Of course, 60% off $1,600 is still $620, but if I had the money I would still buy it.
Whitney Port, previously of "The Hills" and now on "The City" has her own clothing line, Whitney Eve. Since her new show involves her being a fashion intern, I really thought the results would have been better. The pastel florals seem very "I'm 70, live in Palm beach and my poodle has a matching outfit." And what with the stripper dress seen in the top left? The shapes all either extremely basic or unflattering, and yet all the clothes cost more than $200. You can check out everything at SeenON, but I have to say that I'm tres underwhelmed.
Although she received mostly praise for her fashion choices over the past week, Michelle Obama had no supporters at the Black Artists Association. In fact, they are quite upset with the First Lady for not wearing clothes by African-American designers. BAA Co-founder and previous runway model, Amnau Eele, told WWD, "It’s fine and good if you want to be all ‘Kumbaya’ and ‘We Are the World’ by representing all different countries. But if you are going to have Isabel Toledo do the inauguration dress, and Jason Wu do the evening gown, why not have Kevan Hall, B Michael, Stephen Burrows or any of the other black designers do something too?" She added, "It’s one thing to look at the world without color but she had seven slots to wear designer clothes. Why wasn’t she wearing the clothes of a black designer? That was our moment." Eele plans to make a formal appeal to Michelle's office.
Toledo is Cuban American and Jason Wu is Asian American. I personally feel like looking at the world without color is much healthier and that letting race be a factor in your choices, whether positive or negative, only reinforces the idea that we're not equal. But I also do think Michelle would look cute in some Tracy Reese!
Shorts are such a fab way to change up your party-wear! Lots of fashionistas are rocking them lately, and I've started to notice a certain style is the most popular. Probably due to the Current/Elliot boyfriend shorts, most people are rocking slightly loose short shorts with the hems rolled or cuffed. These Parameter shorts perfectly fit the bill and are currently only $95 at Bluefly!

Out of the price range of most of my readers, I'm really posting this Alexander Wang sweater to showcase his creative genius! It took a second, but I've decided I love this look of webbed cutouts, it makes me think of deconstructed grunge. Its conception / inspiration apparently began as a reinterpretation of a beach coverup! Buy at ShopBop for $595.
The secret to rocking a high waisted skirt when you're a regular human being is to find one with a wide waistband! That way you still have a defined middle. So it's very temping to buy this H Fredriksson houndstooth mini, on sale at Goldyn for $165 - it would look so good paired with opaque tights and riding boots!
I used to rock this look back in high school so I'm totally thrilled that it's in style now! I have super tiny wrists and am way too lazy to get links taken out, so it'll be nice to have a menswear watch that won't slide off. Buy this one at Fossil for $115.
