NYC Fashion Week Getting Smaller
This is so sad, everyone is dropping out of the official IMG fashion week in order to save money! The porn industry is requesting a bailout, when is the fashion industry going to use my fashion bailout???
Last season there were more than 80 designers on its schedule, this season there are about 50 so far. Betsey Johnson, Peter Som, Monique Lhuillier, Naeem Khan, Vera Wang, Temperley London and Carmen Marc Valvo have all dropped out in favor of smaller presentations I won't have a chance of sneaking into!! And Zac Posen still hasn't decided, which is never a good sign. On the plus side, William Rast will be showing a collection, which is new, and Tommy Hilfigier will be back. But I'm not exactly interested in seeing either of these shows anyway. Ah well, at least the tents will be less crowded.

I think there were getting to be too many shows in a way...but I still find it sad.
The number of active designers joining the NYC Fashion Week is indeed getting smaller and smaller and that's really sad news. The only reason that I could muster is the recent economic downpour. I pray that everything gets back to normal.
Why does this have to happen for my first fashion week? :-(
