Finally a fabulous fashion event in DC to attend! Designer Taimur Baig was born in Dubai, has previously interned with Kenneth Cole, and is now a head of his eponymous, DC-based line. Heavily influenced by art, architecture and world cultures, I was very excited to attend an exclusive preview of his collection, to be debuted in September!
The sketches looked amazing, I'm so excited to see what he does! He is quickly building buzz with Washintonian fashion folk as one of the most promising local designers in a good long while - someone who actually understand the industry instead of just making pretty clothes!
I ran into lots of fabulous people, including: GWFCC’sChristine Brooks-Cropper and celebrity stylist George Worrell
The Corcoran’s Rachel Cothran wearing one of Taimur’s beautiful gowns (can I please volunteer myself for that job?), The Washington Post’s Holly Thomas, The Corcoran’s Kristin Guiter, Dept of Labor’s Krista Haywood and Betsy from Fashion Is Spinach. I was thrilled to see so many people I knew; I'm a secret introvert so it was nice not standing around pretending to text ;)

Check all all my pictures here, remember the four arrows in the bottom right takes you to nice and big full screen:

They should use us DC fashion bloggers as models for their Sept show!
