Label to Watch: Odd Molly

Odd Molly was a very popular show at NY Fashion Week, so I decided to look more deeply into the brand! Founded in 2002 by Swedish design team Per Holknekt and Karin Jimfelt-Ghata, the label is ethically and environmentally conscious, and has won many design and trade awards.I think it's safe to say their aesthetic tends towards a gypsy boho style, with a youthful, girly vibe. Most of the items are very wearable for everyday, created for women who want to be comfortable without comprising style! The garments are hand designed, as opposed to industry made, and you can buy them online at Yoox, JB and Me and ShopRobertson.
Their S/S '11 collection (their first for NY Fashion Week!) was playfully layered, and heavily featured patchwork and knits brilliantly contrasted with silky, negligee inspired slips! Very pin up girl meets world traveler! Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl's band, Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, played during the show. Check out a video of the event on their home page!
