When I saw these, I was like, I didn't know Rad Hourani had a (slightly) more affordable line, Rad by Rad Hourani! But now that I think about it, maybe I did know... either way you can buy these edgy tough jeans at Acrimony for $335.

New type of post!! When I was explaining this whole socks with sandals trend to one of my friends I pretty much had to run around and find pictures to show her that it wasn't as horrid as it sounded. And I don't know about you but there are times when I really just need to see a trend or style in a few variations in order to understand how to put my own spin on it! So I'm going to start creating little inspiration boards to help all of us try new looks... or perhaps see that something just isn't for us!
I threw in socks of all different lengths, some patterns vs brights vs neutrals and various shoes, from sandals to boots! I contrasting the shoe and the socks is key, otherwise what's the point? I also prefer a heel but I have seen socks with ballet flats and, of course, oxfords!
Have you tried the look out yet? Are totally over it? Wish I had full outfits instead of just legs? Let me know!
I saw these in black and totally wanted, but alas they were sold out. So I went on a quest to find, and here they are in olive and wow they look different with the shirt tucked in! Hmm, do I still want? Buy at Amélie Boutique for £100 or about $150.
OOo, a real vintage bathing suit, it looks so chic, I love the covered boyshort bottoms! But I just realized Buy Definition labels the size as "vintage" - um, that's not exactly helpful guys! I suppose if you really wanted you could call them up and make them measure it for you, it is only $52!
UPDATE: Good news! In case you don't read the comments, they let us know that "The detailed sizing (waist, hip, length, etc.) for our vintage items are listed under the tab "Size and Fit"" Hooray, now you can buy without fear

This unisex white tank has attached suspenders! If this amuses you as much as it amuses me, check it out on I Don't Like Mondays for $98. I think I know what my fiance is getting for his next present! But seriously, anyone just get a strange sensation that suspenders are the next hideous thing to become chic? Call me the Yoda of fashion :P
We have one winner for the Blessing Brand Bracelet Giveaway (Congrats Lynda!), however we had two bracelets to give away and Lynda was the only one who left a contact e-mail! As a result I'm extending the contest until Wed. July 7 at 12PM Eastern Time, to give away the second bracelet. So if you missed out, or forgot to leave a contact e-mail, here's your second chance. Leave a comment below, but remember, you can't win if we can't contact you! (U.S residents Only)
The bracelets are designed by LA Musician Scott Fairbrother. "Scott explains that he “wanted something that represented the classic Californian trinity of peace, love and harmony, but still had an edgy rock’n'roll vibe.” To this end, each leather wrap is decorated with positive messages or mantras (“carpe diem” and “practice compassion”) embossed in silver lettering and are fastened with a heart or peace clasp." They come in 8 different sizes and two different lengths, and retail for $24.00 or $34.00.
I love the combination of the inspiration messages with the tougher look of the leather wrap, and they are super comfy too! Remember, you can get your Blessing Brand bracelet now with our exclusive 15% discount. Just enter the code FASSHON at checkout!
Over the weekend I went to a wedding reception almost exclusively filled with people proud to call themselves rednecks. Super nice people, but I felt like I had fallen down a rabbit hole, like Vyqué In Redneckland. The dress code was casual, which of course I took to mean a a cotton sundress! I'm rocking one my mom made back in the 70s - she used to be such a talented seamstress, I'm thinking maybe I should hire her to make all my clothes!Well casual in my world means something completely different in Redneckland! I saw lots of jean shorts, wifebeaters, even a vest with the sleeves torn off and the phrase "Get a Real Bike You Fucking Pussy!" on the back. Man I wish I got a good shot of that, I still have trouble believing it.The cake was tattoo-themed, very Ed Hardy!
I had a good time, and I think I looked cute so who cares if I was overdressed!
I know, I know, it's counter-intuitive to think about cardigans in the summer, but you must layer with cardigans at work if your workplace is at all like mine. Lightweight ones are great because they are easy to layer and transition well throughout the year. These are on sale at Barneys, and free ground shipping on all orders!
Suzanna Dai has some amazing pieces of jewelry!! Designed by Suzie Gallehugh, she received a degree in Fashion Design from New York City’s renowned Fashion Institute of Technology. After graduating, Gallehugh went on to work for Jones Apparel Group, where she honed her skills in beading and embellishments. Her expertise in exquisite detailing naturally led her to launch the Suzanna Dai jewelry collection in May 2009.
Before making the leap, Gallehugh traveled to India to source her materials and manufacture the pieces. “I create an exact swatch of the precise beading technique to use for a particular style and then sketch out the image of the fully finished piece,” explains Gallehugh. “These are sent to India, where the materials are sourced. Everything is hand-beaded on fabric, as you would for a garment, with the raw edges finished on the outside edge of the beading with a tight whipstitch. The beaded shape is then cut out and backed with leather or suede.”
In its inaugural collection, Suzanna Dai was immediately picked up by luxury retailers, including Bergdorf Goodman and Takashimaya. I am totally in love with so many of the necklaces, talk about making a statement! Alas, her line retails for about $105 to $430 and the necklaces are near the top of that range - sniff! You can buy pieces online from Stars + Infinite Darkness or Boticca.

Ever since an Olsen twin rocked a maxi dress that was sheer from mid thigh down, I've been looking for something similar. This Haute Hippie dress is super close to what I want, but even on sale it's a pricey $487 at ShopBop - yikes!
American designer Jeremy Scott's eponymous label began in 1997 and is infamous for conceptual pieces inspired by pop culture icons, including Mickey Mouse, fast food and The Flintstones. He dressed Britney Spears as a stewardess in her Toxis video and Karl Lagerfeld once said in an interview with "Le Monde" that Scott was the only designer who could take over after he leaves Chanel. Other fans include Madonna, Agnyess Deyn, Beth Ditto, Rhianna, Cory Kenndy, Lady Gaga - a veritable who's who of style icons! His Fall 2010 RTW collection was titled "Hanger Appeal," a sign that he'll continue to bring more and more wearable pieces to the plate? I could definitely see items the average woman would wear scattered throughout the collection, blended into with outrageous pieces that stayed true to his nature. With the economy in the toilet and his Fred Flintstone dresses on clearence at Opening Ceremony, it's probably a smart move to design a collection with hanger appeal ;)

I've never actually worn Spanx, much less any of their swimwear pieces, but many of my friends have sing its praises! Not only will this suit give support and smooth out any bulges, but its colorblocking will whittle your waist even more! Buy for the sale price of $119.

My first week editing the Links a`la Mode and it was such a pleasure to peruse the latest jewels from the blogosphere! Imagine viewing the history of fashion through the lens of a exhibition or a syllabus of what you wish was taught. How about taking inspiration from the latest Jeffery Campbell shoe and tricking out your own for less? Better yet, let's talk about the "nude" trend and its color classification, and while we are at it, let's question the newest movement in advertising campaigns: Unretouched and real beauty - a breakthrough or a publicity stunt? Everyone needs a striped tee with a nautical feel for summer and this one is so affordable it's near impossible to resist! Sure you could pair with denim, but Lucky Mag recently showed a girl wearing one untucked over a floaty mini and I'm totally obsessed with the look now. Buy at Converse for $34.

I went to a Twitter conference last week and while some social media peeps debated the appropriate attire to speak in (cargo shorts are ok, jeans are not) I held myself to the fashion blogger standard :P Maybe I stood out, but I think I looked fubulush, so nah!
Continuing my obsession with socks, I paired a grey pair with some black cut out heels and immediately feel in love with how it looked! Of course black and grey is a rather boring color scheme for summer, so hellooo Rachel Rachel Roy tie dye dress! To make the top of my outfit match the bottom a little and to be all professional-like I threw on a black blazer. Then decided I needed just a little more color so I finally wore a blue beaded lariat necklace I bought at Urban Outfitters forever ago.
This is one of those "I love my outfit so much but it's so distinctive that I can't wear it as often as I'd like" looks, any suggestions on mixing up the pieces?
Fall is coming, that means jewel tones, pleated minis and of course leather! Hmm, I feel like maybe it's time for a new leather jacket and what catches my eye but...This Vince draped leather jacket looks so sumptuous and cozy! What a fab mix of edgy and comfortable, I would totally buy it if it weren't $1,085 at Neiman Marcus - yikes!
This suede leather jacket by Muu Baa has the same open, draped front and slouchy shapy, but is a considerably more affordable $339 at ASOS. But still too expensive for me!
Finally I found this cropped jacket, again with the front draping detail. The leather looks a little shiny in this picture, but it's the most affordable option I've seen so far! Buy at Bebe for $198.
I love this totally deconstructed cardigan duster that looks straight out of a "Resident Evil" movie! Though it may be cheaper to simply buy something and cut it up, because this piece costs $195 at Kitson! Anyone out there good at artfully creating tears and want to help? Or maybe I'll hang something up in a moth-infested attic ;)
There's something so impossibly ladylike and proper about this bag! Strangely, I very much like it even though it doesn't obviously fit into my style. But everyone needs a blush pink handbag, which is the perfect non-neutral neutral! Buy at Lord & Taylor for $295.

It's easy to forget that ikat is more than just tribal prints! It's actually a type of weaving using a dyeing process to make pretty, more organic looking patterns! This one comes in dots (and petite!) and is on sale for $98 at J. Crew!
