Mandy Coon is a relatively new designer, but no stranger to the world of fashion! At the age of 20 she began a career in modeling, which helped foster a deep appreciation of design, particularly construction, and an eclectic personal style. After studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology, she apprenticed with designer Camilla Stærk before launching her own eponymous label in the spring of 2010.

Some looks from her Fall 2010 collectionFor Spring 2011, she was inspired by the jellyfish. Luckily she didn't go overly literal, instead invoking images of dangling tendrils and floating creatures with unfinished hems and asymmetric trapeze shapes. She immediately received multiple accolades for her recent show and could easily become a "downtown darling" - a designer much beloved by models, artists and the social elite of Soho. Currently you can purchase her clothing online at Opening Ceremony (I will cut someone for that bunny bag!!) and Assembly NY.
