Vena Cava F/W '11

Vena Cava was a flashback to the '90s! They even created a 'zine (remember those??) named... 'Zina Cava, hee hee hee! It was all black and white photocopy style and had references to things like Saved by the Bell.

The collection itself felt a bit grunge-inspired, with knit caps and berets, crops tops, lots of long skirts and cut outs. The color palette had lots of black, slate blue and maroon red - very fall but I wish there was some more color! The models wore wedge heels or flatforms (Yay? Boo?) and all the jewelry was a collboration with DANNIJO. I like the idea of this look, pairing a crop top with a long skirt, but I feel like you'd have to be a model to pull it off! Or is it you have to be a model to pull any look with a crop top? I adore that skirt though, so flowy! It's flatform sandals!! I love leather skirts but this length can be hard to pull off.I never got around to buying a short skirt with a sheer maxi overlay, but I still love the idea! This cut out dress rocks it, very chic.

I will get up more pictures in slideshow form soon, once I remember the password to my Flickr account... :O
UPDATE: Yay, I remembered! Or perhaps my caps lock was on.... either way, check out all the pictures and don't forget you can maximize the images by clicking the arrowed box in the bottom right.
