Summer to Fall Looks

I noticed yesterday that there were some people questioning when it was ok to start wearing boots, scarves etc. Being the helpful (perhaps bossy, know it all) type, I chimed it, opining that once fashion week began it was acceptable, nay, expected to transition over to the next season. Of course here in DC, not everyone counts down to the start of fashion week with a mixture of tingly excitement and horror, so it started yesterday, FYI.

So what to wear once it's officially fall in the fashion world, but it's not exactly dipping below room temperature? There are many ways to rock a transitional look that won't overheat you but still looks very of the moment. In fact, here are three different summer to fall outfits for you now!

summer to fall outfits

The first look takes a cute dress, makes it appropriate with some fall florals and then a few touches of the chicest trends of the season, like fur and high heeled loafers. I covet the second look, with its "so hot right now" leather wrap skirt, killer wedges and new statement necklace to have, the metal collar. Finally, the last look paired some flared pants and a knit poncho, which would be very warm... unless you paired it with a cute white tank! Ooo, the cowl neck hood piece on the poncho is detachable too, a great way to cool down if it gets too warm.

Don't be afraid to mix fall colors with summer shapes or layer warmth over breezy - September really is the best time of year for fashion so enjoy it!
