I met Violetville at an IFB event awhile back, and have adored her selection of vintage pieces ever since! And while I've posted some of her items individually, I've never highlighted her store, something I've decided to remedy today! Especially since I got nothing done as I looked through page after page of fabulous items I covet but cannot let myself buy! Like that blue tiger print skirt - OMG I WANT SO BAD!Stocking pieces from as early at the 1910's (and at least one item from the 1800s!!) and going up to the 80s, you can find something for any mood you're in! Even if that mood is "I'm a vintage pin up girl in ruffled bloomers" ;)I highly recommend bookmarking this store for all your vintage needs!!

I randomly threw this necklace into a Polyvore set I created recently and now I can't stop thinking about it! So it's technically be on my blog, but I must feature it specifically - buy at Jigsaw for the sale price of £165 or $269 US Dollars.
At the DC Fabb get together at Carbon this week I went bonkers ove a vintage tiger print maxi skirt that was alas way too big. Now I'm obsessing, there just isn't enough tiget print in my life! Here's a zexy bikini from Asos - the top is $104 and the bottoms $125.

Last night I finally made it out to a DC FABB (DC Fashion & Beauty Bloggers) meet-up! Of course first I had to decide what to wear...I knew I wanted to wear this dress, but I got very stuck on how to accessorize it! People say a little black dress is a fail safe, but I maintain that it's much harder to make interesting than a fringed, animal print jumpsuit monstrosity! I ended up going for a slightly feminine, Charlotte York-esque look. Not usually my style, but I think I look understated chic with a dash of ballerina which is never a bad thing!I'm wearing: Elie Tahari dress from awesome DC consignment store Second Time Around, Jennifer Behr headband from Intermix, Tom Ford sunglasses, red heels from Zara, white print sash from my Amanda Uprichard dress, Wendy Brandes Vampire Diana ring, wrap bracelet from J. Crew, vintage family pendant and Study NY tote bag from their Fall '11 presentation. The meet-up was held at Carbon in DC, an upscale boutique featuring local and eco-friendly designers! We met some of the local designers, above is a picture of Shen Dove Style on the right with one but I can't recall who - anyone know?? I think maybe one of the designers of Diamantia Leather. Sidenote: Shen is even tinier than me, I think she could fit in that clutch of hers!
This Diamantina bag was coveted by almost all the fabulous bloggers there!
Two of my faves, Janice of Capitol Fashionista and Allie of Wardrobe Oxygen! I <3 you guys!
Another unidentified person - someone help me out here! - and one of DC Fabb's founders, A Lacey Perspective! Other attendees included So Much to Smile About, Casie of whipped STYLE and District of Chic! It was a super fun event, I'm so glad I got off my butt and finally met some more local bloggettes!

Hee hee hee hee! Buy this Evian Limited Edition Baby Inside tee at Fred Flare for $30. Usually I'm not big on promoting clothing that's really a part of a kinda lame marketing campaign, but this tee amuses me too much to not post!

Yesterday I went out to DC to a fashion:district mixer with a Butler + Claypool trunk show! Alas, I felt particularly sleep and therefore antisocial, so I didn't really meet anyone new. I tried looking for a bridal shower outfit, but lasa left empty-handed! Not that there wasn't plenty of cute items - I seriously considered that brown, white & yellow wrap dress but decided I had to stick to my shopping list!Lot's of great jewelry too - I was also tempted by a whale shaped tie clip for the Mr!Lots of fashionable Washintonians came out, looking chic in spite of the swampy heat! Of course some of the Butler + Claypool staples were there and I said hi. Including Rachel of Project Beltway on the right - doesn't she look adorable? I'm so jealous of her fashion sense and innate ability to pull off whatever look she wants!
As for what I wore...I recently rediscovered this dress in my closet and have been wearing it almost nonstop since! It's perfect for the heat, as it's a loose shape that still flatters me and is in a summery bright print!
I'm wearing: Dress by French Connection, DV by Dolce Vita sandals from ideeli, Foley + Corinna city tote, necklace courtesy of LOFT, wrap bracelet from J. Crew, green Yosca ring courtesy of Lucky, hat from Urban Outfitters and Rayban Clubmasters courtesy of MyEyeDr.
Not everyone has to be a skinny minnie to love their swim suit! This Diane von Furstenberg looks insanely flattering to curvier shapes, with its retro silhouette, ruching to hide flaws and amazing print! Buy for the sale price of $207 before it sells out!
UPDATE: Holy moly, there were at least 3 sizes left when I posted this and it's sold out now! :( But if you're looking for a similar suit, try the same one in a black and white print, which will probably sell out today too!
A white shoulder bag is the perfect way to lighten up a look for summer! In fact, I will go as far as to say I think we should ban black bags during the day for summer :O Buy this Linea Pelle bag for the sale price of $255 in white or brown.

I recently saw a picture of Alexa Chung on some Madewell overall shorts that were super cute but sold out. So I went looking for similar pairs and found a few options in various price ranges!First up is by desiner denim brand Denim of Virtue. They cost $225 at National Jean Company - pricy but they sure are cute!
This slightly distressed grey pair at Free People was originally an even more expensive $228 but are now on sale for $140.
This classic pair I found at TopShop is also on sale, originally $85 but now a super affordable $40!
Finally, for the extra budget-conscious (like me until after this blasted wedding), this pair at Forever 21 is just $28!
Since I won't be attending NY Fashion Week for the first season in years this September (got a wedding to plan and whatnot!!), I went up to NYC over the weekend to visit some of my favorite fashion bloggettes! So on Friday afternoon I hopped on a bus and went over to stay with the amaze Jordana of Clutch 22!Before going out, I put on a Rock & Republic corset top I bought at Annie Cream Cheese, a premiere vintage and consignment store in the DC area. Whew, where did they come from??? I'm also wearing a Madewell skirt, Michael Kors moccassins and a vest courtesy of Banana Republic.
Jordy & I went out to Rare View, the rooftop bar and garden area of the delicious steak place Rare, and met up with Amy of Midtown Girl and Dina of Eye4Style! We had fun catching up, discussing boys and first date looks, work and blogging and puppies!
For the next day I rocked one of my new purchases - pretty lace skirt bought at Pretty People Vintage! I also wore a camel tank from Guess?, Betsey Johnson leopard print belt, and sandals from Yes Style. I forgot to take a full body pic, so this was taken at my house just a few minutes ago :O
Now I WISH this was taken at my house! After sleeping in like crazy and grabbing a super late lunch of mostly sangria, we went to hang out on a rooftop deck at a beautiful building in Tribeca. The view was amazing! From there we went out to dinner at STK's just open rooftop... if you're in NY during the summer you apparently spend all your time on the tops of buildings!
On my last day (it went so fast!) Jordy and I went out to brunch to the Ember Room with the ever lovely Jennine of The Coveted and IFB. We watched amazingly hilarious videos of cute animals in Japan, caught up and had great food!
I then went off to go back home to DC! With my crazy work and travel schedule plus wedding, I've don't know when I'll be up next, but I can hear NYC's siren song already calling out again ;)

Well haven't the twins been busy! I just wrote about this new collection of handbags and have now discovered they've teamed up with Toms shoes to create a limited edition colleciton of cashmere and wool shoes in classic Toms style! Buy for $140 -$150 now.
I seriously want this wrinkled lame skirt by Rodarte for Opening Ceremony! Love the shimmery material and its movement, it's on sale for $161 at ShopBop. I very much considered buying it, but I must resist and save for the wedding, so everyone please buy this skirt so it sells out and I'm not longer tempted!

The Row is introducing nine bags this season including a day tote, backpack, doctor bag and classic shoulder bag, metal-framed minaudiere twin and laptop twin. All the bags are classically chic, very minimal but super lush. Similar to The Row's clothing, the pieces are very upper west side and priced as such - I hear a crocodile backpack will run you $39,000! The new handbag collection will be available in mid-August at Barneys New York and on Barneys.com.
