My Style Challenge: Video Shoot

I got a chance to be on set for some filming recently, which you'll be hearing more about soon! But first, what was I going to wear?? Instructions were as follows:

"You’re on camera! Please wear what’s comfortable for you. We want you to look professional AND fashionable. We recommend neutral or muted colors, solids, closed toed shoes. (May want to bring extra clothing options to the set just in case). Restrictions and NO-NO’s: Jeans (nice denim is okay, just nothing ripped or faded), t-shirts, loud patterns, all-white, brand logos on shirts, shorts, sneakers. Jewelry is okay but nothing too flashy or dangly – we wouldn’t want that to be a distraction in the video."

Eek, that pretty much cut out everything in my closet! I decided to fall back on my favorite color, purple, and some styling tricks...

I layered a black sweater over top of my purple shirtdress to mute the color a bit. Of course it made me look bulky and shapeless... knot on the bottom to the rescue! I couldn't resist some tights with open toed shoes, though! I was mostly filmed from the waist up anyway!

I'm wearing: Theory shirtdress, Susan Monaco sweater, C. Wonder chain necklace, Yosca ring (c/o), Isabel Toledo for Payless heels (c/o).
