A new designer collaboration in the works - Derek Lam for Kohl's! I've heard a lot of good things about their Rock & Republic collab, so I'm very much anticipating this one! Coming in April, prices range from $44 to $88 and there are a ton of pieces: dresses, separates and swimwear in various colors and prints.

My Style Challenge: My Sister's Baby Shower

When people had expecting siblings I would always tell them "congrats!" but I never really understood that it was actually a super exciting time! My big sister is pregnant, and I'm going to be an auntie!

I threw her a woodland creatures themed baby shower over the weekend!

Her mother-in-law brought some amazing desserts! Loved the hersey kisses made into acorns - it fit in perfectly with my paper squirrels!

Of course I had to get all dressed up! I'm wearing: Neon lace dress from a boutique in CA, cardigan from YesStyle, grey Nine West heels, TopShop belt and necklace from Urban Outfitters. Wow, not a single item in my outfit cost more than $100, and only the shoes cost more than $50! Budget chic!

We played fun games like pin the bundle on the stork and guess how big mommy's tummy is! Our mom, above, won!! The prize table was full of never used NY fashion Week swag, ahahahahah. Make-up and beauty products galore!

Inspiration Board: Overalls

Lately I've noticed overalls popping up in street style pics and the runways! With trend starts such as Man Repeller, Hanneli Mustaparta and Miroslava Duma on board, I think overalls could really be the next big thing!

I really like the idea of pairing some overalls in a somewhat skinny silhouette and ankle length with a slouchy, off the shoulder top and some bright heels! but there are so many options you can play with right now, like leather overalls, distressed boyfriend overalls, colored overalls... this is an easy trend to try while still staying true to your own personal style!

One Shoulder Silk Chiffon Top

My Style Challenge: Digital Print Tee

I'm super big on wearing cool tees with blazers and pencil skirts for work! It's a great way to balance casual with office chic!

I'm wearing: Tee and knit cap from ASOS, Gap pencil skirt, white blazer from Nasty Gal, vintage faux fur coat, Foley + Corinna purse, BCBGirls heels, PAM vampire necklace, Michael Kors sunnies.

I'm testing out the white heels micro trend. What do you think of  my rarely out of their shoe box white heels? Should they see the sun more often?

Wearing a Crop Top

I've identified crop tops as an upcoming trend for spring, but how exactly do you wear one? I've styled three totally different looks for you using one crop top to show how it could fit into your wardrobe!

Please note that for my second two looks, you're only revealing the top portion of you midriff - one you get to belly button territory you start to run the risk of looking a bit trashy. So always pair a crop top with a bottom that covers the natural waist. And please note that a slightly loose, boxy crop top is the preferred style!

My first look is for those who do not wish to show any skin! By layering a loose tank under a crop top you get a bit of a peplum effect, isn't that fun?

My second look is my favorite way to style a crop top - with a circle skirt! Again, note that only the top portion of the midriff is showing. Add on some heels and a denim jacket and you're ready for a fun night out!

Lastly I paired a crop top with some boyfriend jeans and some killer heels. This look is perfect for a weekend brunch or other casual cool event.
