Talbot's = Fashion Hell?

I admit, I've always had contempt for Talbot's. But when my friend recently said it was full of "old people clothes," I had a sudden urge to prove her wrong. I like to argue with people, which is both one of my best and worst qualities ;)
Anyhoo, I set off on a quest to find some wearable pieces that weren't so basic no one could screw them up. These are the results:

This brushstroke floral dress rocks two Spring trends in one: painterly and floral. And yet it'll only run you $138, that's only $69 per trend!

This parasol print skirt is surprisingly similar to a skirt I own! It's fun, colorful and runs you a mere $68.

These printed sheath dresses are a little "Easter Sunday" but that doesn't mean they aren't cute and fun! And they're each only $110.
While very preppy (can't you see Charlotte from "Sex in the City" in all of these??), Talbot's isn't just for old people! Plus, they get extra points for having most things in petite and plus sizes too. Talbot's, you are officially upgraded to fashion purgatory in my mind!

Long Seamed Skirt

If you love the idea of a maxi dress but hate that they're all empire waists that make you look huge, than how about a long skirt instead? Also available in striped blue, buy at Free People for only $98.

Cotton Skirt with Flower Detail

Diani Boutique is one of my new favorite sites for sale section shopping!! I really like how this skirt's drawstring waist is all feminized with the flower detailing. Buy for 70% off at $117.

Full Geometric Mini Skirt

I can't help buy love full mini skirts, even though they make it easy to flash your unmentionables ;) This one has a great geometric pattern, very unique! Buy at Nordstrom for $88.

Upside Down Ruffle Hem Skirt

The hem on this skirt is so original and pretty, it reminds me of the origami pleats trend and paper bag waists. You can buy this in gray and blue or brow and red for $120 at Smashing Darling. There's even a matching blazer!

Paisley Ikat Skirt

More paisley! I like how, because it's dyed ikat style, this Vera Wang skirt has a less crisp and more flowy look to it. Ruffle Attached Hem Skirt

I like how this skirt's ruffled hem has gaps, like it's been sewn on in a last minute whim. A very stylish whim, though. Buy in either light or dark gray for $159 at Stewart + Brown, one of my favorite eco-labels.

Pleated Stitch Detail Skirt

I thought I had posted this skirt before, but I looked back and didn't see, so here it is now! I love the way the detailing looks like steps, interesting without making the skirt look out there. You can buy it at TopShop for £50 or about $100 US Dollars.

I found this great new site, My Theresa, but then realized it was totally, insanely expensive, le sigh. This skirt was one of the cheapest items there and it's on sale for €149 or about $235. But what I really want is the Fendi bag it's styled with ;)

Plastic Mini Skirt

Ha, it's a plastic mini skirt! You can buy it for $325 at Emporio Armani or just buy yourself a some saran wrap for a similar effect.

White Mirrored Skirt

This is a perfect piece to buy if you can only buy a few things for Summer. It looks insanely comfortable and you can wear it to work or just hanging out. The tiny mirrors give it an exotic boho vibe and white is perfect for the warm weather. Buy at Free People for $128.

Just one more star print item! This skirt is tres cool, being a full mini and covered in stars! I would definitely pair this with some red wedges or espadrilles. Buy at Asos for £30 or around $60 US dollars before it sells out!
